I am working on the design of a factory that produces inspection equipment for medical equipment. Some of the equipment that is inspected is overseas equipment. As such the client is requesting 1- European Union 1- UK and 1- China receptacle I would imagine I would need buck boost transformers and frequency converters to support but what I’m having trouble wrapping my head around is how I would approach the wiring to the receptacles... should I be following NEC requirements or international standard? Should I follow the same equipment grounding procedures etc?
Sounds to me like they are to be used outside of the US. I would never wire foreign devices with US wiring standards but thats just me.
Strangely enough the foreign devices are intended to be installed in the factory in Brooklyn NY so they can inspect foreign equipment
Hmmmm....well I would expect an evaluation by third party for UL compliance first. Then I guess as long as you supply it with compliant (expected) voltage then what can go wrong....:)
Lol... good point! Looking further into this these devices have certifications from non NRTLs Ok seems like a good strategy Now I got to do some research on how each device is wired ... pardon my ignorance but not sure if they use standard wire and conduit in other countries or I would just use US wiring methods
Well, since its in the US I would stick to our methods and label like a mad man.
